Entirely new broadcast IT network

Al Rayyan is a fast-growing media company providing 24/7 TV playout and postproduction. The speed of growing caused issues and limitations in the existing network infrastructure. Qvest was assigned for network consultancy and analysis to identify bottlenecks and risk to design a new network infrastructure. Furthermore, a migration plan was developed to move all systems within the broadcast network to the newly designed network without interrupting the daily business as well the 24/7 Playout at Al Rayyan Channels.

Qvest implemented an entirely new broadcast IT network, leveraging cutting-edge switch technology and deploying Cisco Nexus 7700 as the core infrastructure. This encompassed the entire process from wiring to switch configuration and the implementation of a comprehensive network monitoring system. Being well prepared the configuration and migration took place within one day and four nights without any interruption to any business-critical unit or any other department at Al Rayyan. The key systems earmarked for migration include the playout automation system, scheduling system, media asset management (MAM) system, video servers, and central media archive storage, along with the associated editing workstations. The new infrastructure guarantees high bandwidth and full redundancy. It is most flexible for future expansion.
