WeAreQvest: Ali Fahs
With more than 13 years of experience in the broadcast industry, Ali Fahs serves as Senior Solutions Architect and Team Lead at Qvest. Since joining the company in 2013, he plays a key role in designing and delivering complex broadcast solutions, combining technical depth with clear leadership across project lifecycles.
In this interview, he talks about his professional journey from hands-on engineering to architectural leadership, the evolving role of cloud and IP-based systems, and what defines strong partnerships and innovation in modern media environments.
Q: Hi Ali, please tell us a bit about yourself.
My name is Ali Fahs, and I’m a Senior Solutions Architect and Team Lead at Qvest. In my role, I drive solution architecture and pre-sales activities such as tender solution design and BoM preparation, as well as technical leadership during both tender and project delivery phases.
I joined Qvest in 2013 and have grown within the company into my current position. With more than 13 years in the broadcast industry, I’ve built strong expertise in solution architecture, system integration, and end-to-end technical leadership. Over the years, I’ve been closely involved in building, configuring, and delivering complex broadcast and IT systems. This hands-on background still shapes how I work today. It allows me to design solutions that are practical and scalable while leading teams and delivering projects reliably.
Q: How has your journey at Qvest evolved over the years?
My journey at Qvest has been a steady evolution across engineering, architecture, and leadership. I started out very much hands-on in system integration and delivery, and gradually took on more responsibility in solution design, pre-sales, and technical leadership. That shift enabled me to take end-to-end ownership of projects - from shaping solutions early on to leading their implementation.
A big part of my development has come from working on large-scale broadcast transformation projects, including cloud-based platforms and SMPTE ST 2110 environments. These projects deepened my technical knowledge and sharpened my ability to align complex solutions with business needs. Today, I bring both perspectives together: staying close to the technology while making sure that what we design is also delivered successfully.
Q: What is most important to you when working with clients?
When I work with customers, I build long-term relationships based on trust, transparency, and reliability. Understanding their business context is key to delivering solutions that create measurable impact. In large-scale projects and tenders, it’s important to align architecture, scope, and delivery plans from the very beginning.
Because I’m involved in both pre-sales and delivery, I ensure continuity between design, proposal, and delivery. For me, quality and stability start with a solid architecture, proven technologies, and ongoing validation. In a B2B environment, trust comes from being a partner who consistently delivers on what has been agreed.

Q: What do you enjoy most about working at Qvest, and what keeps you inspired here?
What I value most about working at Qvest is the chance to be involved across the full project lifecycle and to contribute to complex, high-impact projects. The culture here encourages ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement, which fits very well with how I like to work.
There is also a strong focus on modern broadcast and media technologies, especially cloud-based and IP-based systems and workflows. Being part of projects that move the industry forward technologically is something I find both motivating and rewarding.
Q: How would you describe the role of a Solutions Architect at Qvest, and what advice would you give to aspiring architects?
The role of a Senior Solutions Architect and Team Lead at Qvest is both strategic and very hands-on. It includes designing end-to-end architectures, supporting pre-sales activities such as tender solution design and BoM preparation, and making sure that delivery runs smoothly.
With my experience and strong implementation background, I balance technical depth with an understanding of business priorities, so that solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with customer objectives from the start. As a Team Lead and Technical Lead, I guide teams, align stakeholders, and ensure high delivery standards, while keeping the architectural vision on track throughout the project lifecycle.
For anyone interested in this kind of role, I recommend building a solid technical foundation, staying hands-on, and continuously developing skills in modern IP-based and cloud-driven architectures.
Q: Can you tell us a bit about your team?
Our team works in a collaborative and flexible setup, combining remote and on-site work depending on the project. As a Team Lead, I create a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
We share knowledge openly, support each other, and work closely together to deliver complex, high-quality solutions. Our contribution goes beyond project success as we strengthen Qvest’s reputation for excellence.
Q: Which project or event at Qvest has left a lasting impression on you?
Several projects have stayed with me, especially those where I was involved from the initial solution design in pre-sales through to technical leadership and delivery. Large-scale transformation projects, cloud-based platforms, and SMPTE ST 2110-based infrastructures stand out because they mark a clear shift toward more scalable, flexible, and IP-based broadcast environments.
These projects, combined with staying hands-on, have played a major role in shaping my development as both an architect and a leader.
Q: Looking ahead, what are your expectations and goals for 2026?
Looking ahead, I want to deepen my expertise in cloud-native architectures, scalable media platforms, and modern IP-based technologies such as SMPTE ST 2110, while continuing to grow as a leader.
The industry is clearly moving to flexible, automated, and resilient systems that can adapt quickly to change. Qvest will continue to grow through innovation, cloud adoption, and the increasing demand for trusted transformation partners.
